COUNSELOR TRAINING
Inter-City Baptist Church is excited to be recognized as an approved ACBC certified training center. Our church has been evaluated and approved by ACBC to provide counseling training and observation that will apply toward a person’s Phase 1 of ACBC certification.
As a ministry of our church, Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary is the means through which a person can be certified. We offer two tracks: (1) a Master of Divinity track, which allows a student to take a concentration in biblical counseling. Students who do so will be certified by the time they graduate; (2) A non-degree track, which is a more streamlined training approach that allows any of the following people to pursue certification: DBTS graduate, DBTS spouse, area pastor, or simply a person who wants to be able to serve people in their church well.

For over 40 years, ACBC has provided a church-centered approach to training people to counsel from the Bible, and our church is happy to partner with them to train men and women for biblical counseling.
